Football season is in full swing! That means for the next few months our weekends revolve around cheering on our favorite teams, gathering with friends and enjoying some great food while watching the game. Whether you are the host on football Sunday at your home or out tailgating, I have put together a few of my favorite snacks for you that won’t pack on the pounds.
Mango Avocado Salsa – A crowd pleaser!
- 1 mango, diced
- 1 avocado, diced
- ½ small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 T lime juice
- 1 T olive oil
- ⅛ tsp salt
- Combine all ingredients into a bowl, cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with whole grain pita chips or sweet potato tortilla chips.
Mini Tacos – Use my crockpot chicken recipe (plus add in 1 T chili powder, 1 T cumin, 1/2 T onion powder, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper), small whole wheat or sprouted grain tortillas and top with diced tomatoes, diced onions, salsa, guacamole and lime wedges on the side.

Apple Slices with Peanut Butter Fruit Dip – Super easy to make and one of my all-time favorite dips! Get the recipe HERE!
Veggie Tray with Hummus – Keeping it simple! Cut up any of your favorite veggies (carrot sticks, cucumbers, celery, cauliflower, snap peas) and put them on a serving plate with organic hummus, store bought is great because it’s fast but if you have time you could also make your own.
